Clockwise from Top Left: George, John, Ethel, Edgar, Frederick, Eliza (nee Bristoe), William, Hester. Missing from the family at this time were John Charles (father) and eldest son, Albert. Both had died, John of unknown causes and Albert in action with the Royal Berkshire Regiment on 1st July, 1916 - the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Back to Gallery
